Christian Soldiers is an excerpt from the first movement of The Great War Symphony, a new choral symphony to be written by Patrick to mark the end of the First World War centenary commemorations. Christian Soldiers is, in part, a homage to one of the most celebrated composers of that time, Edward Elgar, as well as being a section of a much larger musical memorial to those who fought in the war.
This performance by the South West Philharmonia & Chorus features as part of their ‘Last Night of the Proms comes to Plymouth’ in the Plymouth Guildhall.
