The original version for solo soprano, SATB choir and string orchestra appeared on Patrick’s debut album Blue in Blue. Patrick subsequently produced a new arrangement for the Voces8 choir with cello which featured on their Number-One-selling album Eventide.
This meditative piece reflects on the eternal mystery of ‘what is true is beautiful and what is beautiful is good’. The simplicity of the text is mirrored in the pure tonality of D major and in the repetitive four-bar harmonic progression.
The Cello and Harp version was written as a duet for cellist Julian Lloyd Webber and the Royal Harpist Claire Jones.
Other versions for solo piano or orchestra are also available.

Veritas vertuatem redit.
Pulchritudo veritatem redit.
Truth reflects goodness.
Beauty reflects truth.
